What you need for a secure connection
Use an account that can access your store admin and create separate credentials only for this analysis. Never share your personal password.
Optimisium reads only the data required for product, order and repeat-purchase analysis. It does not request permission to change products, prices, orders or ads.
Create the API connection
This method automates data transfer and reduces the risk of missing columns.
- 1
In WordPress, open WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API.
- 2
Choose Add Key and name it Optimisium Read Only.
- 3
Select a store administrator under User and Read under Permissions.
- 4
Copy the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret into the connection screen.
What do we read, and why?
Export the last 90 days as CSV
If you prefer not to provide an API connection, you can run the same analysis with a compatible order file.
- 1
Open WooCommerce → Analytics → Orders and select the last 90 days.
- 2
Download the order summary with Download CSV.
- 3
If line items are missing, use an order export that includes product lines.
- 4
Keep customer email or ID, date, product, quantity, total and currency.
Fields we expect in the file
Column names may differ. The upload screen matches them automatically and flags missing fields.

Which user should own the key?
Use a store administrator who can read products and orders.
Can a security plugin block the connection?
Rules that disable the REST API may block access; the relevant endpoint may need an allow rule.
What if I lose the secret?
Revoke the old key and create a new Read key.
